Hi,

Recently my iMac G5 running os x v. 10.4.7 won't go to sleep (manually or automatically) and the firewire connections won't work for external drives; yet, the USB connections seem to be intact, even for external drives. Also, when I try to restore the energy saver preferences to factory defaults the color wheel appears and then preferences stops responding.

Any suggestions?

Thx, Ross

sounds to me like your system could use a hard re-install.
