PowerBook G4 keyboard sleep

if my password was 'PowerBook' and that is what I typed, I would only get 'owerBook' - note the missing 'P'.

Can someone tell me what is going on here. Is it meant to happen? Can I change it?

I have found that if I leave my PowerBook idle for a while, the keyboard seems to 'sleep'. That being, nothing happens until the second keypress. The first keypress seems to 'wake' it, and then the second acts as a normal key press.

Example 1: I leave my computer for a while and when I come back it is at the screen saver - as expected. I come back, move around on the touchpad and am presented with the screen unlock login prompt. I go to type my password but note that the first key I press does not enter a character. This means, that if my password was 'PowerBook' and that is what I typed, I would only get 'owerBook' - note the missing 'P'.

Example 2: I have my computer playing some music in iTunes for a while with full screen visualisation on. I swear I used to just be able to press the space bar (no matter how long it had been playing) and my music would be paused. But nowdays, I have to press space twice if the music has been going for more than about (not sure really) 5 minutes.

So is this normal, or does anyone know what might have changed and how I can fix it?

Just thought I'd bump this up in case anyone missed it last time. I'd really be interested to hear from ppl. :(

Well, for future reference/completeness, it all seems fixed with the latest software update (did it last night).

System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.5 (8H14) Kernel Version: Darwin 8.5.0

Cheers, Oz.
