PowerMac G4, USB card, and Sleep

Hello,

I've searched this newsgroup, Google, and Apple's website, but cannot find answers to the following questions:

+ Is USB 2.0 supported on a PowerMac G4 (Sawtooth)
      running MacOS 9.2.2
+ Are there any USB (1.0 or 2.0) cards that support
  the "deep sleep" mode?

+ If there are no "sleeping cards", can I use a hub
to attach more devices, but still get sleep mode?

I purchased an Adaptec USB2 Connect 5100 and after getting it home, the fine print inside the box tells me that the card will only give me USB 1.0 performance and it will disabled "deep sleep" mode. I can live with USB 1.0 performance (although, I could have bought a cheaper card for that). But the lack of deep sleep mode makes the card unusable. I'm not about to bootup/shutdown my computer every time I use it.

TIA, Kevin Cundiff
