Resetting PRAM keystrokes?

My iMac won't recognize anything, and since yesterday, not even Norton

My iMac won't recognize anything, and since yesterday, not even Norton Utilities startup disk?

I have Panther Systen installation disks and it won't recognize them either.

Any thought? Should I reset the PRAM - is there anything else that comes to mind?

Thanks Joe

Switch of the Mac, press Command Option P R and while pressing these keys simoultanously switch the Mac on, keep on pressing until you have heard the startup sound three times.

Dirty DVD-drive? Broken DVD-drive?
