Will Panther fix PB sound sleep issue?

I bought a PB over the weekend I'm getting the known issue with the audio going to sleep after 30 seconds.

I'm just curious if anyone knows if Apple has resolved the problem in Panther?. It would be good if they at least put an option of some kind in the system prefs for users to tweak if they want to.

It's not a problem, it's a design decision.

You understand that the sound circuitry powers down to save power ? If you run KeepSoundAwake you'll be chopping somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes off of your battery time. Apple thought that having the battery last that much longer was worth it.

Except the design decision is flawed. Why be concerned with battery life when the laptop is powered by the AC adapter?
