Why buy products that help the environment?

Greeniology is a reference book of things you can do at home and work to help the environment. A new edition focusses less on what is good for the environment, and more on what is good for you.
Greeniology’s author, Tanya Ha, was recently interviewed on ABC Radio National.
Tanya explained we care more about our own well being, than the environment. Rather than fighting against this selfish trend, she shifted the focus of the book to highlight things that are good for both you and the environment.

A product that helps the environment appeals to a limited audience.
A product that benefits your health, improves your quality of life, or saves you money is far more appealing. And that means you are more likely to buy it.
Helping the environment is a nice by-product.
