Power Manager 4.5 - Energy Saving Software for Mac OS X
DssW announced the release of Power Manager 4.5 for OS X. This release adds new triggers, Schedule Assistants, and numerous refinements.
Hereford, UK - 26 October, 2015 - DssW, the leading developer of Mac energy saving software, today announced the release of Power Manager 4.5 for OS X. This release adds new triggers, Schedule Assistant tasks, and numerous refinements.
Power Manager is an energy saving solution for Mac OS X. Power Manager enables users to create sophisticated energy saving schedules and to automate complex tasks. Power Manager can power on a Mac, run a series of tasks, and power off the Mac without requiring any interaction.
“Power Manager 4.5 adds many new Schedule Assistant tasks. These tasks expose previously available capabilities but now, thanks to the assistant, they are easier to create and use.” said Graham Miln, Director. “This update also sees the introduction of the long requested sleep trigger.”
New in this release are seven Schedule Assistant tasks. The Schedule Assistant provides a quick and easy way of creating events. The new tasks help users to attach AppleScripts, Automator workflows, and shell scripts to computer-wide triggers. The triggers include logging in and out.
A new sleep trigger is now available through the event editor. This specialist trigger is designed to help users work around problems with hardware. Some storage devices fail to unmount properly before sleep. Using the sleep trigger, a short script can ensure the hardware is safely unmounted just before the computer sleeps. We will be offering advice for using this trigger on the DssW web site.
The sun trigger has been extended to include an optional offset time. This time allows the creation of triggers at times relative to the astronomical event; such as half an hour before sunset or ten minutes after dusk.
