Since I installed OS X 10.3 on my eMac I've been making use of the auto sleep function. A few days ago I swapped over to auto shutdown instead. Unfortunately auto shoutdown proved to be rather hit-and-miss, so I tried to change the setting back to auto sleep - but the change wouldn't stick.
The culprit appears to be the prefs file, com.apple.AutoWake.plist. I deleted it, expecting OS X to create a new one, as it does if you delete com.apple.PowerManagement.plist for example. It didn't, so now I don't even have the rather erratic auto shutdown... How do I force it to create a new AutoWake.plist?
