Battery Dispatch Wootness

It rapidly dropped from 2hr real life to 15 minutes to dead from full charge, even though it would report 1hr soon after power removal.

The Apple store was claiming 4 weeks shipping when I ordered it at 12:50 today. I got acknowledgement at 12:56, confirmation at 14:22 and.... <fx=drum roll> dspatch notification at 23:02 with 2-3 working days delivery

I ordered it separately from the stripy thing because I thought it would be delay...y...yed.

heh!

I think I better get my Tiger order in before normal service is resumed.

Heh!. I think it is unrelated. The actual life of the battery was dropping rapidly before 10.3.9. Battery charge estimates have always been fairly accurate after a few minutes of outrageous optimism after pulling the power. This PB is 18 months old, gets used 10hours/day and the battery temp is usually >30+C, so it is expected to be pretty well buggered by now, if my Battery University degree is worth anything at all ;-)

luckly mine is still holding at about 2hrs i pulled the plug at 2pm and the it died at 4pm it was reasonbly light use, mostly word and omniweb.

whats happening now is though it just dies after 2 hrs or so even if it says its got 20% or so instead of getting to 0% and warning that the battery is low it just goes, still like you i've used it heavlly so thats probably good going really.

New battery arrived. I'm typing this in the last 3 minutes of its calibration run 3.5 hours of active downloading and Safari activity, usually about 70% idle, which is pretty active.
