Recently purchased the above, having problems with charging the battery. Have never reached 100% to calibrate the battery. I realise that the battery won't do a cycle of charging when it is nearly full but I discharged it to about 40% then charged it to 98%, then used it till it went to sleep in an attempt to calibrate it.
The problem is that the battery will only charge for 5 to 20 minute at a time then stop charging. It has taken me 2 days to get to 89% with this on/off charging and replugging in AC adapter.
It doesn't matter if the laptop is on or off it just won't continue to charge. Am I doing something wrong? Never had a powerbook like this and as it is only 1 week old wondering what is best : (

call apple or take it to the store that sold it to you. There's a problem there and Apple should fix it. This is what warrantees are for, after all.
