It just sleeps with the indicator light pulsating.
Any ideas, other than taking it into the Apple Store?

Had the same thing once, turned out the battery was at 0%. Plugging in the adapter solved it for me.

Mine will do this if the battery is too low. You plugged into AC power?

Yes, I was and am plugged into ac power when it went to sleep. BUT, it awoke after I momentarily unplugged the ac power and then hit a key.
