iMAC Starting problem

When we hit the power button, it lights, and the drive starts to spin for about 2 seconds, and then it shuts down, and the light goes off.

You probably just need a new PRAM battery. ItÀs a 1/2AA Lithium 3.6 volt. You can get one at Radio Shack.
