My Power Mac 7200/75 needs a new internal battery. The specs say 3.6 v lithium. Do I need to know more to buy one? I'm trying to avoid taking the computer apart before I have a new battery in hand. All help appreciated.

Try Radio Shack.

Its size is about like a AA battery that's been cut in half. A lot like an N-cell, now that I think about it. That plus what you already know is probably enough, but if it was me I'd bring it along with me to the store.

It is 1/2 AA 3.6v Lithium Ion battery which is sold at Radio Shack for $10.99. It is made by a company called Tadiron and it is purple and white. I hope that helps.

You can find the battery you need at:
http://www.resource800.com/cmosbatt.html

click on "Apple Desktop" link and scroll half-way down to the table

for all the Apple Macs to find your 7200 model.

The 7200 takes a small lithium battery you can get at Radio Shack, Radio shack part number 23-026. It's a Tadiran 3.6 v lithium 1/2 AA cell.

Actually the one at Radio Shack has a bit more capacity, but it's the same form factor, series, and voltage.

Take a look at the Mac battery site:

You need only one.
