I saw that www.everythingipod.co.uk had a replacement battery for the
1st Gen iPod on sale at 19.99+P&P. I've just started using mine again
and although the life is OK, I'm a sucker for a bit of a bargain. It
arrived this morning. It took a few minutes with a screwdriver to prise
off about 4 clips, you pull the old battery from some stick pads, unplug
the old, plug in the new, chuck the new battery onto the sticky pads,
click the case back on. A 5 minute job tops and that was being extra
cautious because I was using a screwdriver instead of a proper nylon
tool to protect the case. So what's all this bollocks about
non-replacable batteries in iPods? Yeah it could be easier, I've never
had occasion to do this before in the 3 years or so I've had it and I
didn't exactly 'need' to do it now so I can't see a problem with the
procedure given how rarely you should need to do it.Sam replied on :
