Advice appreciated: Running a powerbook 3400 with system 9.1 and using a Global Village 56k pcmcia modem, the powerbook will often freeze when I try to shut down. Sometimes I need to eject the modem before shutdown. Is there a known problem?
I don't know if there is an issue. Try this trick to shut it down. Instead of choosing SHUT DOWN--instead choose RESTART. Hold down the shift key and this will cause the powerbook to start with extensions off. The next step is to choose SHUT DOWN and you probably won't have any problems. This trick will probably work since it's my guess that there is a problem with your extensions or some other running program. When you restart with extensions off--it shuts down any programs and all extensions. Let us know if this trick works.
