Morning,

Can some kind soul remind me of the type of PRAM battery used in iMac G3's? I've got a tutor with a dead one, who wasn't able to find one in boots, jessops, or boswells (Dept. Store of All Things) - What are they?

Someone posted a Maplins part number a while back, but my newsreader has purged it.

Cheers,

Oddly enough I ordered some last night from somewhere else - Maplins don't have them in stock. I'll try and remember to look it up when I get home.

If it's a real emergency, I seem to remember that a 3.5V 1/2 AA photo battery works okay too.

True - I've tried this bodge-fixe before, (when I bought the wrong type) and it /just/ fits in the holder. But you can't get the plastic 'lid' back on. As I'm not doing the fitting of this, I'd like to give the user the right part for a change :->

My fave is "Educational Keyboards".

Presumably if you make a typo a hand leaps out from the back and slaps you on the wrist. If you commit a grocer's apostrophe, the 'Extreme' keyboard shoots you.

"The Stealth Keyboard for Under Cover Duties." "The new ST007 from The Keyboard Company will undoubtedly catch the eye"

Surely these 2 are mutually exclusive?
