I have a client running 10.3.9 on a G5 iMac (no iSight). Every time the iMac goes to sleep, it won't wake up. When you tap the spacebar (or any other key or the mouse) the iMac shuts down instead of waking up. It powers up fine, all the diagnostic LED's are lit. I did a preference-ectomy, zapped PRAM repaired permissions, all to no avail. I even created a new, virgin user account, which behaved exactly the same. Has anyone run across this? Is there a solution short of erase and install?
Many thanks!

Many thanks! I reported similar problems with my G4. There are many posts at the Apple forum site discussing this problem. But Apple, AFIK, has not seen fit to respond in any meaningful way. I do not know what it takes.
Since first posting, I have found that I have the same problem when I use the power button to put the computer to sleep and again to wake it up. The problem does not seem to arise if just the power saving, the kind that leaves my Macally mouse stay lit during the power down phase.
