Maybe this has been discussed before, and I haven't been looking for it: with OS 9.2.2, my B&W G3 is very slow after awakening from a sleep, when the hard drive has spun down. After it spins up again, every action, even including shutdown, is slow; a restart cures it. Is this a known phenomenon? A friend of mine encountered a similar experience using some version of OS 9 on his Powerbook. I don't remember what version he was using at the time, but he had to reformat the mac hard drive (he has two hard drives, one for each OS [mac os & linux]) and reinstall the system software and the problem disappeared. He did try reinstalling the Mac OS but it had no effect.
I'm sorry, but I know of no solution short of reformatting the hard drive & reinstalling EVERYTHING individually.
