Hi guys, I'm looking for a battery replacement for my old spare TiBook 800Mhz (DVI). I see a number of sellers in the States - any in the UK?
I also see a load of new ones on eBay - they say they "equal to or better than" the original manufacturer's specs but I'm very wary of buying unbranded "cheap" stuff. Anyone have any experience?
Thanks for any info!

Try Malcolm at..

or VIS at..

I have had good dealings with both.

I had a great deal of trouble finding one for my TiBook 667 not so long ago. If I'd actually tried my local dealer in Tewkesbury first rather than after days of hunting I'd have been a lot better off however :-)
They might possibly still have one in (atcomputers.co.uk I think), and if not it's probably worth calling around a few of the smaller dealers in case they have some lying around but not listed on their catalogues.

Yes - I got one off ebay for my tiBook 800. Absolutely marvelous. The battery gauge thing is different, but I got it a few months back and still have a better battery life than I had when I first got this book (it was second hand - about 9 months old).
Got it in september from googolpower.

Many thanks for the info chaps! Woody, that's exactly the eBayer seller I was looking at, glad to hear you had a good experience. I might go for that one, sounds good enough. Just out of curiosity though, what do you mean that the "battery gauge thing is different"- do you mean the lights on the battery itself? How?
Thanks! Gavin

The lights on the battery, yes. On the original, you press the button and it turns the lights on for a while. On the replacement while you are pressing the button the lights are on. That and the battery is slightly lighter grey.
Other than that, it is great.
I got a replacement battery for my Titanium from the eBay seller: batt_shop
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=3Dbatt_shop= &iid=3D6841710860&frm=3D1728
=A345 was a reasonable price. As good as the new original battery when it was new - though I have not done any timed tests!
