USB bus does not awake after sleep

I am running 10.1.3 on my G4 450 Cube. My USB bus does not awaken after the Cube has been asleep, with the consequence that I must do a hot restart in order to access my USB printer (an Epson Stylus Color 900G). Can anyone point me towards a solution, please? Thanks, Burt
