Recently installed a PCI USB card in a G4 desktop MDD. When I have 9.2
running (not in Classic) to use PageMaker I find I can't put the machine
to sleep. Apple System Profiler reports that sleep is disabled because
of the PCI card installation - even when there is no powered-up unit
connected to the card. There's no problem with sleep using Panther. Any
ideas of a way round this please?

Possibly there may be a firmware upgrade to the card, but unlikely. I think you're probably stuck with it.
There were similar problems with some Adaptec SCSI cards some years ago.
